Level of Education

  • Early Years

The Early Years (EY) curriculum enhances children's natural curiosity and is responsive to their needs, interests, abilities, and approaches to learning. Opportunities are provided for them to plan and choose their own activities from a range of learning areas and projects. Each child's home culture and language are also valued and linked with school experiences. In all areas, we provide vital support for them to be active enquirers and lifelong learners.

Our Early Years (EY) 1 & 2 classes complete four units of enquiry while our EY 3 children explore six units of enquiry each year. Learning experiences in the Early Years build on children`s interests and are based on enquiry, which takes many forms such as play. Our daily timetable allows time for the children to play, explore the environment and investigate what triggers their curiosity.

  • Elementary

Binus School Simprug have been authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organisation to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP), a transdisciplinary curriculum that is engaging, relevant, challenging and significant for learners in the 3-12 age range. The curriculum is broad and inclusive and have a great emphasis on the acquisition of essential knowledge and skills, development of conceptual understanding, demonstration of positive attitudes, and taking of responsible action.

All units constitute the programme of enquiry, which is also based on the Indonesian National Curriculum. Throughout the curriculum, Information Technology is used as a tool that facilitates learning. Students are exposed to languages other than their mother tongue. The school's language of instruction is English and starting from EY 1, Indonesian Language and Chinese Language are taught to BINUS students.

  • Middle School

The Middle School at Binus School Serpong encompasses Grades 6 to 10. It is the point at which the curriculum becomes increasingly less integrated as characterized by the Elementary School and more subject based. The curriculum is based upon The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. The Indonesian Department of Education also recognizes our international programmes.

The Middle School Curriculum provides students with a stimulating and challenging opportunity to study a broad range of subject-based topics in both a national and international context. Assessment is both formative and summative, and knowledge and understanding may be demonstrated in a variety of ways, which allows each student the opportunity to experience success. English is the dominant language of instruction in the Middle School. An option for all students is to receive instruction in Mandarin Language at an appropriate level to ensure early mastery.

  • High School

Binus School Simprug is an authorized IB World School. In 2007, the school introduced the Diploma Programme (DP), which complements the PYP and MYP that are currently offered in the Elementary and Middle Schools.

The DP is internationally-recognized, and graduates have direct access to international universities of their choice. The two-year international curriculum aims to provide students with values and opportunities that will enable them to develop sound judgement, make wise choices, and respect others in the global community.
